The Manager, Flight Dispatch Quality and Support is responsible for overseeing the Flight Dispatch Quality Assurance and Safety Management programs, ensuring ongoing compliance with regulatory, IOSA, and corporate safety standards.

Reporting to the Director, Flight Dispatch, the role provides leadership in audit preparedness, quality governance, risk management, and continuous improvement across Flight Dispatch operations. The incumbent also leads the Flight Support group, ensuring the integrity, reliability, and regulatory compliance of flight planning data, tools, and global overflight processes in support of safe and efficient operations worldwide.

Responsibilities:

    Provide leadership and oversight of the Flight Dispatch Quality Assurance and Safety Management programs, ensuring compliance with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), IOSA standards, and corporate safety frameworks.Lead Flight Dispatch audit preparedness and execution, including IOSA, Transport Canada, internal, and corporate audits, ensuring findings are analyzed, addressed, and closed effectively.Monitor quality, safety, and performance trends, providing analysis and recommendations to the Director, Flight Dispatch to support informed decision making.Act as the point of contact for Quality for Flight Dispatch, collaborating with Corporate Safety, Flight Operations Quality, and regulatory authorities as required.Ensure appropriate quality governance, documentation control, audit records, and reporting mechanisms are maintained in support of regulatory and audit requirements.Identify and escalate resource and financial risks impacting the effectiveness of Flight Dispatch quality, safety, and support functions, and provide recommendations to support efficient use of resources.Partner closely with the Manager, Flight Dispatch Standards and Training to ensure alignment between quality requirements, documentation, procedures, and operational practices.Provide leadership and direction to the Flight Support function, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant flight planning data and operational support.Ensure effective prioritization and delivery of Flight Support activities to meet operational, time critical, and regulatory requirements.Maintain oversight of global over flight compliance and associated regulatory permissions, acting as the Flight Dispatch liaison with Air Navigation Services, IATA, and other State agencies and airport authorities in support of operational requirements.Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external agencies to support optimized global routing and operational efficiency.Ensure the accuracy of Flight Planning software and global NOTAM databases, maintaining compliance with overflight regulationsAct as designate for the Director, Flight Dispatch and peer managers when required, providing leadership continuity and operational support.Support the Director in identifying resource, financial, and capability risks that may impact quality, safety, or operational effectiveness.Lead, coach, and develop direct reports, ensuring effective performance management, workload prioritization, and team capability.  
Qualifications

    Education: Post-secondary education; university or college diploma preferred.Proven ability to communicate information clearly, professionally, and credibly to various stakeholders.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (eg. MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
Licence(s), attestation(s), certification(s), association(s) required

    Is a qualified Flight Dispatcher conforming with the CARs.
Experience/Business Knowledge

    5+ years of experience as a qualified Flight Dispatcher with Air Canada.Knowledge of management analysis and principles, methodology and techniquesPrevious operational control/flight dispatch leadership experience or project management roles.Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.In depth knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations, associated Commercial Air Services Standards, FARs and JAR-Ops. In depth knowledge of 705 and 725 operations. Must demonstrate significant achievements in specific quality areas and/or issues; proven superior interpersonal skills, writing skills and leadership capabilities.Safety Responsibilities: As per the Air Canada Flight Operations Manual (FOM), the Air Canada Flight Dispatch Standard Operating Procedures Manual (FDM), the integrated safety management system, SOC/Dispatch work area recovery and evacuation process, and aircraft accidents and incidents (publication 400).Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
