COMPENSATION
Pay or shift range: $85,000- $100,000 USD annually. This is the base compensation hiring range for this role.
JOB SUMMARY
The Fuel Supply Programs Manager is responsible for Sun Countrys fuel procurement and supply management. The Fuel team oversees Sun Countrys single largest expense, ensuring efficacy, cost competitiveness, and continuous process improvement of the fuel life cycle.
This critical position works cross functionally with the operations, maintenance, charter, financial planning, and legal functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Negotiate and execute annual jet fuel supply contracts for all locations ensuring our continued competitive advantage
- Partner with charter team to optimize fuel supply contracts
- Actively identify, analyze and drive supply, facility and logistics cost savings opportunities from the well to the wing of our aircraft
- Actively seek to enhance, and deliver forward monthly fuel consumption forecasts to our suppliers for each of Sun Countrys destinations
- Evaluate system implementation opportunities to enhance efficiencies and automate the refinery to wing-tip data flow
- Partner with FP&A to ensure accurate forecasting and review actuals
- Collaborate with fuel service providers and the operations teams to ensure physical fuel supply 24x7 securing our ability to fly
- Interact and build relationships with over 20+ fuel suppliers and service providers
- Balance the benefits and risks to working capital and fuel supply surety while executing the optimal physical fuel inventory management program
- Deliver value by negotiating into-plane, consortia, and fueling contracts for all stations
- Represent Sun Countrys interest in fuel consortia discussions
- Own cargo-related supply and into-wing discussion in collaborative manner with a focus on continuous improvement
- Complete project/analysis requests; regularly partner with internal and external parties
- Partner with accounting to be point of contact for their physical fuel invoice reconciliation process to ensure the accuracy of all fuel related invoices

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors degree in finance, economics, business, engineering, or another analytical field
- Minimum of five years experience in an analytical role
- Excellent PC skills with MS Excel, and PowerPoint
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Working knowledge of airline operations or commodity trading
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work with all levels of the company
- SQL programming experience a plus
