Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

Supervises inspection personnel in the performance of inspections on aircraft and components. Responsible for the planning, scheduling, and monitoring work schedules to ensure inspection coverage for production operations. Interfaces with production management and technicians to determine status of aircraft for airworthiness issues. Responsible for oversight and correctness of the final regulatory documentation required for delivery of aircraft, to include acting in an “inspector” capacity where needed.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

  • Supervise, plan and perform the functions of aircraft inspections leading up to the issuance of airworthiness certificates.
  • Supervise, train and schedule inspection personnel to review and approve the aircraft documentation prior to airworthiness certificates (337s, logbook entries, EASA Form 53, etc.).
  • Ensure all assigned aircraft are maintained and all parts are in accordance with current FARs and Repair Station & Quality System Manual and Quality Assurance Plan Relative to Completion of F-WW Registered Aircraft in Dassault Falcon Little Rock (QAP).
  • Review and approve aircraft records after aircraft delivery.
  • Coordinate and schedule with production management for inspection coverage.
  • Responsible for the inspection and conformity of all aircraft undergoing completion before the aircraft is released for flight or returned to service.
  • Provides current inspection data to be used for the inspection of any alteration performed.
  • Ensures that defective or un-airworthy parts are not installed in any component, assembly or aircraft that is repaired or altered.
  • Performs inspections of aircraft and components.
  • Know, understand and comply with the Repair Station & Quality System Manual and the QAP.
  • Prepare necessary required Quality Assurance and Company Documents.
  • Accurately logs Computerized Labor Data Collection for Time and Attendance Tracking.
  • Maintains attendance records.
  • Performs traditional supervisory duties, i.e. hiring, terminating, evaluating the performance of, approving sick and vacation days for and administering disciplinary actions to subordinate employees.

NON-PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

  • Perform special assignments and projects as required by management.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Airframe and Powerplant certificate.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in scheduled or unscheduled aircraft maintenance or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with FAR 145 Repair Station and FAR 43 Maintenance.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with FWW/EASA/POA processes.
  • Minimum of 2 delegation rights (CVE, Form 1, Form 52, Form 53, NCR MRB, Repair Station)
  • Minimum of 1 year leadership experience (Temp Lead experience and/or previous documented Leadership experience from prior employment acceptable)
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Flight Line Transfer and Flight release
  • Able to read and understand structural and avionic drawings, schematics, test procedures, etc.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills to prepare detailed reports.
  • Computer literacy
  • Critical thinking, logic and analytical skills.
  • Pass vision testing, minimum 20/20 corrected, and with no limitations in color perception.
  • Must demonstrate competency in English (read, write, speak and understand the English language)

ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Establish and maintain a strong effective team and interface between Quality Control and Production departments.
  • Ability to provide annual budgets requirements and work within the established department budget goals.
  • Associate degree in aerospace field.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work various shifts and overtime as applicable
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Outside work and work in non-climate-controlled areas are required.
  • Involves exposure to chemicals and dust levels set by OSHA standards.
  • Work in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA and company safety procedures.
  • Able to work in a high noise environment (jet engines, air tools, etc.) with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be physically able to walk up and down steps, able to walk long distances, climb, stand, kneel and work in confined areas all with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pound aircraft record boxes with or without reasonable accommodation.

This position is designated as a safety-sensitive position because it includes as part of the essential job duties operating equipment and tools on a routine basis. Additionally, the duties of this position concern the service and completion of aircraft, and overall airworthiness of the aircraft. This position is one in which a lapse of attention could result in injury, illness, or death. For the safety of this employee and others, the employee must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long periods of time while performing safety activities.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

The compensation for this position typically falls between $77,765.00 and $104,061.00 per year. This position is not eligible for overtime under FMLA guidelines. This position may be eligible for shift differential. Note, the final compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of relevant experience, Falcon-specific experience, relevant education/certifications, geographic location, and shift.
