Position Summary
Magellan Aerospace, Mississauga has an exciting new opportunity for an Engineering Representative. The purpose of this position is to provide general engineering and technical support services for test cell engineering projects and represent the department at customer locations as required.
Essential Responsibilities
- Support the operation and maintenance of RCAF engine test facilities.
- Provide technical assistance on mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Liaise with team members, clients, suppliers, sub-contractors and other in-house support staff.
- Provide on-site and remote support to analyze problems and rectify issues.
- Provide technical writing services and maintain documentation for all engineering work performed.
Position Requirements
- Engineering degree or technologist diploma.
- Hands-on capabilities to support mechanical, electrical instrumentation, data acquisition, and control systems.
- Working knowledge of gas turbine engines.
- Working knowledge of engine test technology.
- Excellent computer skills as well as a working knowledge of CAD programs.
- Knowledge of mechanical/facility systems.
- Knowledge of instrumentation systems, functions and limitations as well as calibration requirements and accuracies.
- Knowledge of electronics, mathematics, and measurement technology to diagnose, calibrate, and repair electrical measurement systems and instruments.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Understanding of gas turbine engine operation and testing, both at theoretical and practical levels.
- Mechanical inclination and aptitude sufficient to perform minor equipment repairs.
