Job Description:

DPP is seeking a Network Administrator for an opportunity in Blythewood, SC.

Work location: Blythewood, SC with the potential to travel to Field Office locations in South Carolina using a state vehicle.
Duration: 12 months, with possibility of extension. No remote work.
Hours: 37.5 hours/week, with the potential of after-hours and weekend needs to respond to outages
Term: W2 position
Candidate location: GA, NC, or SC. Must be willing to relocate to SC prior to starting

Job summary:

The Network Administrator will act as a point of reference for the Network Operations Center (NOC) team on technical issues. While reporting to the Network Operations Center Manager, the Network Administrator will work on assignments that are complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems, making recommendations, and implementing changes with little to no supervision. In alignment with the agency standards, this position contributes advanced technical expertise to support and strengthen daily NOC operations.
Daily duties include managing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting a statewide network infrastructure built upon a foundation of various solutions, such as Cisco/Meraki, Palo Alto, Fortinet/FortiGate, Certes, and Citrix NetScaler, and Trellix technologies.
The Network Administrator will be proactive in their approach to monitor network performance, ensure efficient communication across the network, review and improve security compliance through cybersecurity best practices, and implement updates or changes to maintain optimal connectivity and secure version compliance.
The Network Administrator will be part of a multi-team environment and must have the ability to work as part of those teams and must have the ability to support multiple tasks at the same time, in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. They will work closely with technical teams and should be able to provide knowledge transfer and informal training to peers where appropriate.

Responsibilities:

Perform the configuration, installation, maintenance, and upgrade of networking products.
Troubleshoot network failures and identify network problems.
Network analysis, design, installation, configuration, and support.
Maintain network diagrams and other network documentation.
Provide configuration, troubleshooting and problem resolution support.
Troubleshoot and remediate issues in a complex, voice-integrated infrastructure.

Required knowledge, skills, and abilities:

10+ years of experience with Cisco firewalls
10+ years of experience with Cisco routers
10+ years of experience with Cisco switches
10+ years of experience with Cisco VPN
10+ years of experience with Cisco administration
5+ years of experience with Palo Alto firewalls
5+ years of experience with Palo Alto XDR

Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities:

10+ years of experience with knowledge of monitoring and tracing tools
10+ years of experience in core network architecture
10+ years of experience with advanced troubleshooting, routing, and switching
4+ years of experience with wireless networks
3+ years of experience with hybrid cloud infrastructure

Preferred certifications:

CCNA
CCNP
