To execute the design and tuning of database and to successfully manage and maintain the consistency, availability and security of data required for business needs and projects. Also, to ensure timely and accurate archiving and backup of all available data and immediate retrieval and disaster recovery to avoid disruptions in operations and ensure business continuity.

• Install, configure and patch NOSQL database systems including but not limited to, MongoDB and Couchbase.
• Install, configure and patch relational database systems including but not limited to, Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server and MySQL.
• Configure backup and recovery procedures in relational and NOSQL databases.
• Configure High Availability solutions in relational and NOSQL databases.
• Manage limited database server resources to maximize throughput.
• Implement database monitoring systems and take proactive actions to prevent failures.
• Review database performance periodically and advise on instance and query tuning.
• Develop ETL procedures to move data between various systems.
• Formulate data migration strategies to migrate data from legacy systems to new systems.
• Find root causes of failures.
• Design and build database objects, including tables, views, procedures, triggers, etc...
• Write complex queries for various report requirements.
• Troubleshoot legacy queries to identify issues in report results.
• Enhance query performance by means of database instance tuning, indexing and query rewrite.
• Automate tasks in Linux and Windows environments.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering/Information Technology/Computer Science/ or equivalent.
• Database certification (Oracle or MS SQL or IBM DB2),.
• SQL Knowledge is essential.
• Fluent in English Language

• 5+ years of extensive experience with Oracle database technology including RAC, ASM and Dataguard.

• Experience in Oracle RMAN backups.

• A good performance tuner with experience in diagnosis reports like AWR and understanding in query execution plans.

• Experience in data movement utilities like SQL*Loader, EXPDP/IMPDP.

• Experience in any other RDBMS technology is an added advantage.

• Experience in PL/SQL, T-SQL or any other database procedural language.

• Experience in at least one NOSQL technology.

• Good at complex query writing.

• Hands-on experience in database schema designing.

• Hands-on experience in data replication tools.

• Sound knowledge in Data Warehouses.

• Experience in at least one programming language like Python will be an added advantage.

• Excellent communication skills to understand and explain problems.

• A good team worker who can collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision and coaching.

• Ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly.
