Job Objective
The Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the company. The position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Staff Accountant meticulously manages financial data to ensure precise and timely financial reporting for the company and affiliates.
Essential Functions
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations and general ledger journal entries
- Process accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions
- Treasury management and bank reconciliations
- Completion of month-end financial statements
- Monthly invoicing process
- Invoice and reconcile deposits for rental accounts
- Create and analyze information by developing spreadsheet reports
- Facilitate effective internal controls
- Participation in special projects as assigned
- Manage credit card processing platform/issuance, limit increases, fraud support
- Record sales and use tax; complete sales tax exemption forms
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSA)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Ability to correctly prepare tax reports
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, Sage 100, and QuickBooks Online
Education & Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Minimum 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or private industry setting
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Filing duties include standing, pushing, pulling, squatting, and lifting
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds at times
Work Environment
- Temperature-controlled office
- Limited Exposure to outdoor shops with potential extreme cold and hot temperatures and loud noises
Work Status, Schedule, & Travel
- Full-time
- Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
- Overtime may be necessary
- No travel required
